Environmental gamma dosimetry using CaSO4:Dy TL dosimeters

An account and results of the Indian participation in the international intercomparison of environmental dosimeters held in U.S.A. in 1976, 1977 and 1979 are presented. The intercomparison included field, laboratory and control dosimeters. CaSO4:Dy Teflon TLD disc dosimeters fabricated in India were sent for the experiments of intercomparison. Results showed an excellent agreement between the exposures measured by the above Indian dosimeters, the mean of the measured values of all the dosimeters from different countries and those obtained by organisers of the intercomparison experiments.
