Failure assessment of a PWR-RPV under LOCA load considering loss of constraint

Description
In reactor pressure vessels, brittle fracture in case of LOCA must be excluded, i.e. any crack must be arrested within 3/4 of the wall thickness, and crack propagation must be prevented. The safety calculations for this case were updated in consideration of new findings and new technical regulations. The test procedure and the results are reported
Abstract (German)
Fuer Reaktordruckbehaelter ist fuer Kuehlmittelverluststoerfaelle (KMV) ein Sproedbruch auszuschliessen. Dazu muss der Rissarrest innerhalb 3/4 der Wanddicke oder der Ausschluss von Rissspruengen durch Ausschluss der Risseinleitung nachgewiesen werden. Der Sproedbruchsicherheitsnachweis eines Reaktordruckbehaelters fuer die KMV-Stoerfaelle war unter Beruecksichtigung eines neueren Kenntnisstandes und des geaenderten Regelwerks zu aktualisieren. Die Nachweisfuehrung und die Ergebnisse werden berichtet. (orig.)Additional details
