Organization of nuclear safety in France

Description
A detailed description in presented of the organization of nuclear safety in France centering on basic principles, such as are comprehensibly and accurately stated responsibility, the separation of technical assessment from administrative procedures and legislation. The content of work of the main organizational units is described, namely including the CSSN (Supreme Council for Nuclear Safety), the CIINB (Intersectorial Commission for Basic Nuclear Installations), the SCSIN (Central Safety Assurance for Nuclear Plants) and auxiliary units, i.e., regional industry and research directorates (DRIR), the IPSN (Institute for Nuclear Protection and Safety) and three permanent groups of experts.
