Search for unorthodox phenomena by neutron interference experiments

Description
We demonstrate that neutron interference experiments can be used to search for deviations from conventional quantum physics in two different contexts: elementary quantum mechanics and gauge theories. In the first part we discuss a recent precision double-slit experiment with the view of setting upper limits on various hypothetical deviations from elementary wave mechanics. In the second part the results of a neutron interferometry experiment are presented which, via the Aharonov-Bohm effect, sets an upper limit on gauge-type interactions of the neutron. (author)
