Bloch wall controlled sliding in ferrite garnet films

  • 1. AN SSSR, Moscow. Inst. Obshchej Fiziki

Description

The paper deals with studying a possibility of Bloch wall (BW) controlled sliding. Films of the (Eu, Lu, Bi, Pb)3 Fe, Ga, Al)5O12 composition grown by the method of liquid-phase epitaxy on gadolinium-gallium garnet substrates with the (111) orientation from a solution in the Bi2O3-PbO-B2O3 melt at the ratio Fe2O3/(Ga2O3+Al2O3)=5.2 have been chosen for investigations. A periodic pulsed magnetic field with pulse frequency f, pulse duration, tau, and amplitude H has been applied square to the film plane. It is shown that since an average rate of BW sliding linearly depends on tau and f, it is possible to control the BW sliding by varying either frequency or duration of the field pulses
