Moessbauer spectrometric studies of corrosion products of steel pipes internally coated with polyethylene

Description
Different chemically pretreated samples of steel pipes were coated internally with polyethylene and then mounted in hot water domestic installations. At fixed intervals samples of the pipe were taken and the corrosion products were studied by Moessbauer spectrometry using 57Co as gamma radiation source. It was revealed that the polyethylene layer protected the steel pipes effectively
