Exchange and hyperfine interactions in magnetic intermetallic R2In compounds

Description
Moessbauer spectroscopy has been used to analysis the influence of the intrionic f-d exchange on the hyperfine interaction for 119Sn impurity atoms in the magnetic intermetallides. The orientation of the magnetic moments of the R3+ ions was determined. The spin reorientation transition in Dy2In between 30 and 80 K was found. The character of the magnetic transition at the Curie temperature in Nd2In was found to be the first order transition
