Calorimetric study of transformations in LaNi3Mn2-H2 system

Description

The calorimetric technique was applied to study hydrogen concentration dependences of differential molar absorption (desorption) enthalpy and equilibrium hydrogen pressure in intermetallic compound LaNi3Mn2 in the temperature range of 423-523 K and at hydrogen pressure below 6 MPa. The data obtained point to the existence of two hydride phases LaNi3Mn2H2 and LaNi3Mn2H-4. Within the range of 423-523 K a noticeable increase of enthalpy of hydridation is observed for a tetrahydride phase. At temperature above 632 K the process of hydrogenolysis takes place in a dihydride phase with formation of lanthanum hydride
