Sintering of materials on the base of chromium boride
- 1. AN Ukrainskoj SSR, Kiev. Inst. Problem Materialovedeniya
Description
Sintering temperature is studied for its effect on shrinkage, density and hardness of materials on the base of chromium boride with iron, iron-nickel and nichrome. It is shown that alloying of chromium boride by these binders permits producing almost pore-free materials at the sintering temperature which are by 500-800 deg C lower than the sintering temperature of pure chromium boride. Nichrome additions reduce its sintering temperature most effectively. The developed materials are characterized by high hardness. The structure of materials of the chromium boride - iron and nickel base alloy system consists of iron, chromium borides and compound chromium-nickel borides
