One-electron oxidation reactions of 5-hydroxy indole derivatives with NO2 and Br2 radicals
- 1. National Centre for Free Radical Research, Univ. of Pune, Pune (India)
- 2. Radiation and Photochemistry Div., Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai (India)
Description
The reaction of NO2 and Br2 radicals with 5-hydroxy indole derivatives was studied using pulse radiolysis technique in the pH range 4-10. The time resolved absorption spectra obtained in the reaction of NO2 with 5- hydroxy indole derivatives are similar to that obtained in the reaction of Br2 radicals and the spectra are assigned to the indoloxyl radical.
