Large scale calculations of electron-atom/ion processes
Creators

Description
A number of 'large-scale' calculations using supercomputers are discussed including the generation of atomic data in the Opacity Project; the diagonalisation of large matrices on the CRAY X-MP/48, and application in state-of-the-art calculations on electron-helium scattering; the novel topic of Rydberg states of diatomic molecules in a magnetic field. The use of linked arrays of transputers is considered, not only in relation to large existing FORTRAN codes but also with new codes employing extremely advantageous algorithms
