Description
We investigated the hemodynamics of superior vena cava (SVC) syndrome using usual contrast enhanced CT by evaluating contrast enhancement of collateral veins and liver parenchyma. From the results, we considered the route consisted from chest wall veins to the azygos vein as the main collaterals. If they are not enough, we believe that the other routes such as abdominal wall veins, peridiaphragmatic plexus, or transhepatic collaterals become apparent. (authors)
