Surface waves due to a pressure strip travelling with uniform velocity
Description
The two-dimensional problem of the surface waves generated by a pressure strip of finite length travelling over the surface of water of uniform finite depth h is presented. The transient part of the free surface elevation eta is analysed by applying the method of stationary phase and the saddle point method. The steady state part of eta is evaluated by invoking Cauchy's Residue Theorem. (author)
