Gastrointestinal regulatory peptides: Radioimmunoassay and biological activity
Description
Some of the problems in comparing immunoreactivity and biological activity of gastrointestinal regulatory peptides are discussed. Using gastrin as an exemple, it is concluded that the comparison of the results of a well-defined radioimmunoassay, a sensitive bioassay, and possibly also a receptor assay should make it possible to determine more exactly the role of gastrin in the physiological regulation of gastric acid secretion and also its role in disease
