Effect of ultrasonic treatment of zirconium-containing solutions on precipitation of zirconium basic sulfate

Description
The effect of ultrasonic treatment of zirconium-containing solutions on peculiarities of precipitation of the main zirconium sulfate as well as on some characteristics of the main zirconium sulfate (MZS) and zirconium dioxide prepared from it is investigated. Depolimerization of Zr (4) polynuclear complexes is stated to take place under ultrasonic treatment of zirconium-containing solutions, as a result of which precipitation of MZS from these solutions proceeds more rapidly and completely. The influence of the ultrasonic treatment regime on particle sizes of the precipitate is determined, that makes it possible to prepare zirconium dioxide of controllable dispersity from it
