Study of energy properties of pair step on dislocation

Description

With the purpose of development of the theory of radiation swelling and creep the method of molecular dynamics was used to study energy properties of a pair step on edge dislocation [100] (010) in alpha-iron. Binding energies between the dislocation pair step and atom in the dislocation core depending on configuration of the step edge and its extent are obtained. On the base of consideration of possible configurations of embryonic pair steps the most probable succession of their nucleation and growth in the course of capture by dislocation of interstitial atoms arising in material under irradiation is determined. The potential profile of atom migration along dislocation tube into the field of another atom implained in the dislocation core is calculated
