Ergodic divertor experiments on Tore Supra

Description

The ergodic divertor (ED) creates a magnetic perturbation which changes the transport in the edge layer. The experiments reported in the paper show that the edge temperature is reduced and that the power is channelled to the neutralizer plates. The reduced plasma density and carbon density are correlated to a reduced particle life time at the very edge of the plasma. (author). 9 refs, 6 figs, 1 tab
