Synthesis and study of some divalent metal 3-nitrophthalates

Description

3-Nitrophthalates of magnesium, cadmium, barium, zinc, and lead have been isolated in a crystalline form. Cadmium complex has a composition CdL x 3H2O, where L is an acid residue of 3-nitrophthalic acid. Decomposition of nitrophthalates is of an explosion character. Cadmium complex has a temperature of the decomposition onset 250 deg C. A specific effect of nitrogroup on thermal decomposition of the synthesized complexes has been shown. Infrared absorption spectra of nitrophthalates have been studied
