Description
Laser-induced shock waves in the atmosphere are unique sources of high-power wideband acoustic radiation that can be recommended for investigation of wideband high-power acoustic signal propagation in the atmosphere. The present report is aimed at a comparison of waveforms and spectra of laser-induced acoustic shock waves generated by single liquid and solid aerosol particles, monodisperse liquid and solid aerosol particle ensembles, and outdoor atmospheric aerosol and elucidation of their special features. Results of several measurement runs performed under laboratory conditions and in the outdoor atmosphere in winter and summer are discussed
