Technologically altered natural radiation environments
Description
A separate category of radiation exposure has been proposed. This category has been called technologically enhanced natural radiation of TENR and refers to radiation exposures whose physical sources are natural but which would not occur without technological intervention. Several examples of TENR are discussed. These include: fossil fuels, geothermal fluids, building materials, mining and milling of uranium and other ores, water, fertilizer, tourist caves, consumer products and air travel
