Description
To improve detection of low energy gamma ray in multi energy gamma ray measurement, it is essential to reduce the background signal. One way to achieve this goal is by reducing the measured amount of Comp ton's events produced by higher energy gamma that are part of the background in the lower gamma ray photo peaks. A portable detector that reduces background for low gamma ray (up to 1500 keV) by approximately 50%, thus shortening the detection time by 50%, has been developed. This paper describes the gamma detector elements, results and performances
