Description

In the framework of environmental and radiological researches carried out to define the base line level of natural and artificial radioactivity in the Taranto Gulf (Ionian Sea) and in the Venice Gulf (Northern Adriatic Sea), the Radioecology Laboratory of the Zoology Institute has recently developed and is still developing together with researches of CNEN, an investigation on the 239+240Pu and 238Pu contents in different marine samples. This paper reports the results obtained on a set of environmental samples (water, plankton, organisms and sediments) collected during different cruises from 1972 to 1979 in such marine areas as well as in other stations around the Italian coasts
