Peculiarities in crystal structure of Nb-Ti alloy at low temperatures

Description

Data on investigation into phase and position of niobium alloys with 50-60% Ti at room (300 K), nitrogen (78 K) and helium (4. 2 K) temperatures, as well as on the effect of external factors, such as pressure, heat treatment and deformation mode on structural state of investigated alloys at low temperatures, are given. The increase of α and ω-phase amounts in Nb+(50-60%) Ti alloy at temperature decrease from 78 down to 4.2 K in samples, subjected to preliminary treatment by pressure of above 800 MPa, was established experimentally. Treatment of Nb-Ti alloy by pressure of above 400 MPa results in formation of ω-phase, which is found at 78 and 4. 2 K
