Description
The present report gives quarterly environmental radiation monitoring data for twenty three locations for the period 1988-'96 at RAPS region. The mean natural background radiation dose is evaluated as 71 ± 12 mR/year as compared to the earlier reported value of 76 ± 14 mR/year during 1982-87. A linear correlation between the estimated stack dose (calculated from fuel burn up and meteorological considerations) and measured exposure with TLDs are seen at two locations within exclusion zone. Also seen is a good correlation between dose estimated from natural radioactivity in soils and exposures measured by TLDs (from locations beyond 2.5 km). (author)
