Neutron occupational exposure and radiological protection

  • 1. Institut fuer Strahlenschutz, Muenchen (Germany, FR)

Description

A set of 76 stray and leakage spectra of neutrons partly measured and partly theoretically assessed in nuclear reactor and accelerator environments have been compiled. 31 are indirectly determined by own multisphere measurements in the experimental hall of a swimming pool research reactor. For all spectra and several assumed exposure conditions (A-P and isotropic radiation incidence) various quantities relevant in radiation protection have been determined. This concerns the effective dose equivalent, the newly recommended operational quantity H10, as defined in the ICRU-sphere, and finally the expected reading of albedo dosemeters, some Bonner spheres and a standard Anderson and Braun rem counter
