Polarographic study of the Cu(II)/Cu(I) system in the presence of 1-ascorbic acid and 0,1 M ClK

While studying the catalytic effect of Cu↓2 ions on the oxidation process of 1-ascorbic acid, it has been observed that, in a 0,1 M solution of K1 at a pH 6 to 7, the above acid gives rise in the presence of Cu↓2 ions to a polarographic wave of half-wave potential of -0,41 V (vs. S.C.E.).
