Yields of low-energy nuclides from reactions induced by relativistic protons and deuterons on 58,64Ni

Description

Experimental data on yields of low-energy 1,2,3H, 3,4He nuclides produced from the interactions of 7.5-GeV protons and 6.7 GeV deuterons with 58,64Ne are compared with calculations performed according to the cascade-evaporation model. It is shown that the characteristics of secondary particles observed in the experiments are described by the model, providing with correct prediction of isotopic effects arising from cascade production of evaporating nuclei, for which Z and N depend upon the nucleon composition of the target nucleus
