The study of materials formability of which volume damage is an important factor contributes to a better comprehension of sheet forming problems. That is why it is necessary to observe cavities due to plastic deformation and their growth. Ionic polishing technic allows to get good results

L'etude de l'endommagement volumique des materiaux par l'observation des cavites, pose le probleme de la preparation de l'echantillon. Le polissage mecanique n'est pas satisfaisant, car les copeaux arraches par les grains abrasifs vont se loger dans les cavites.
