On-line trapping of ions injected into a quadrupole ion trap
Description
The use of a quadrupole trap to catch ions in flight was investigated numerically. The results show that storage is possible for injection into a trap operated in the radio-frequency and the combined modes, but not in the Penning mode. (author)
