Balmer alpha emission in H+-H collisions at intermediate energies
Description
The results of a large scale (74 states) coupled channels calculation is presented for the cross section of Balmer alpha emission arising in collisions of protons with hydrogen atoms. The range of proton energies is from 15 to 100 keV. A two-centre symmetric basis set was employed which included some united atom orbitals. The results confirm earlier calculations and a disagreement with recent experimental data remains. (author)
