Description
32Si was produced by the reaction 34S(p, 3p)32Si with 51 MeV protons on Li2SO4. Radiosilicon was separated with 60-80% yield, by distillation as H2SiF6 without the addition of carrier. A value of >= 0.6 mb was estimated for the average cross section for the energy range extending from 44 to 51 MeV. Potential applications are reviewed. (orig.)
