We discuss recent results from PEP and PETRA with emphasis on compositeness limits, gluon fragmentation, the determination of the Standard Model parameters αs, Mz, and sin 2θw from the total hadronic cross section, estimates for the top mass within the SM, the renormalization scale dependence of various αs determinations, hadronic jet multiplicities as compared to the second order QCD matrix element, and new results on the 'tau-decay' problem
