Corrosion cracking of high-strength steel under conditions of antiplane deformation

  • 1. AN Ukrainskoj SSR, Lvov. Fiziko-Mekhanicheskij Inst.

Description

It has been shown that time of hydrogen penetration through the metal is determined by the surface phenomena. At voltage higher than yield limit of steel, t0 increases and the hydrogen flow speed decreases, especially in inhibited sulphur acid solutions. With increasing temperature, hydrogen penetrability of steel rises at any voltage level both in an acid with and without the additives of inhibitors and Cl-anions
