Description

The water chemistry of the steam water circuit of a fast breeder reactor is described. The system and the materials are very similar to modern conventional boilers with once-through flow. New aspects arise from the construction design of the boilers and specific operating conditions which are only applicable to fast breeder reactors. The measurements which are described in the paper were made mostly using automatic instruments. After 13,000 hours of operation a tube of one of the steam generators was removed and examined. Some of the results are discussed. (author)
