An overview of the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory Free Electron Laser Program
Description
This paper reviews the status of the LLNL Free Electron Laser Program. Rather than using the output of an rf linac, the electron pulse from an induction linac enters the wiggler magnet without being bunched into small packets. The laser beam makes a single pass through the FEL amplifier. Wavelengths from several millimeters to less than 10-6m can be amplified
