Human factor in the operation and maintenance of the dieselgenerator at the WWER-440/V-213

Description

The dieselgenerator system was analyzed within the probability assessment of total failure of supply for own consumption at the Jaslovske Bohunice V-2 nuclear power plant. The analysis revealed that elements that are dependent on human intervention are involved in failures of the dieselgenerator technological circuit to the greatest extent. This concerns, e.g., maintenance of the fuel pump and the dieselgenerator cooling water pump. The effects of the human factor on the function of the dieselgenerator system are summed up. They include adhering to the intervals of rounds and following the parameters, paying attention to signals and instantaneous intervention, test operation after each shutdown, repair and revision, alertness with respect to fuel, oil and water supply, and periodical inspection, maintenance and repair.
