πK scattering in the effective chiral theory of mesons

Description
In the framework of U(3)LxU(3)R chiral theory of mesons, πK elastic scattering is studied. The s-wave and p-wave scattering lengths (a03/2, a01/2, a13/2, and a11/2) and phase shifts (δ03/2, δ01/2, δ13/2, and δ11/2), the total elastic scattering cross section σtot(π+K+) and σtot(π-K+), and the p-wave cross section σp(π-K+) are calculated. Theoretical results are in agreement with the experimental data. There is no new parameter in this study. copyright 1998 The American Physical Society
