Torus type thermonulcear device
Description
Purpose: To suppress the excess increase in the plasma density upon incident and heating of neutron particles by utilizing a relatively narrow space within a vacuum vessel. Constitution: At the surface of a limiter in contact with plasmas, are formed openings through which plasma particles are readily flown. The openings are communicated to a chamber incorporated in a limiter and equipped with an exhaust device. With such a structure, a portion of the plasma particles reaching the limiter intrude into the openings, neutralized upon collision against the inner walls of the openings and, thereafter, transported at a certain ratio to the exhaust chamber and then exhausted without returning to the side of the plasmas.
