Prediction of high pressure vapor-liquid equilibria with a mixing rule using the ASOG group contribution method

  • 1. Department of Industrial Chemistry, Nihon University, Tokyo

Description

This chapter presents equations for the prediction of high pressure vapor-liquid equilibria for 22 binary and 2 ternary systems consisting of n-paraffins, nitrogen, hydrogen, and carbon dioxide in the temperature range 95-298K. The mixture energy parameter in the Ishikawa-Chung-Lu (I-C-L) equation, a two-parameter cubic equation of state, is expressed by the use of the ASOG group contribution method. The advantage of the I-C-L equation is that it can calculate the vapor-liquid equilibria in the range of low temperature with good accuracy. The I-C-L equation consists of Scott's hard sphere term and the Redlich-Kwongs' attraction term
