Avere-France, the national association for the development of electric mobility, has published a study on the recharging needs of electrically-powered heavy-duty and light commercial vehicles. The study has been carried out by Colombus-Consulting on behalf of Avere-France and the Advenir program. In order to increase the number of these vehicles, 45,000 to 60,000 new recharging points will need to be deployed by 2025. Avere- France has helped financing more than 100,000 charging points since 2016. Around 200,000 electric-powered vehicle dedicated to road transport (trucks, buses, minibuses, light commercial vehicles and coaches) are expected to be on the road in France by 2030, making it essential to develop charging infrastructures. Most of these vehicles will be recharged at night, at the depot: for example, 90% of urban or inter-regional freight urban or inter-regional goods transport, with journeys of less than 200 km, should be recharged this way in 2030 (versus 95% in 2025). The study also considers that 45,000 to 60,000 new public and private charging points will be needed for trucks and light commercial vehicles by 2025. These charging points will be mainly in depot areas, but also on high-speed roads, logistics hubs and even roadways. For buses, minibuses and coaches, the study estimates between 3,000 and 4,500 new charging points to be deployed both in private areas such as depots, but also in public spaces (expressways, along lines or at passenger hubs). With this in mind, several 'tools' for financing charging points have been identified. On the one hand, the Advenir program: a subsidy linked to the financing of private parking lots for truck fleets.
