Description
For the first time a Wideroee structure was operated at the space charge limit. High intensity He-ions have been accelerated in the Unilac Wideroee. The experimentally found space charge limit and transverse emittance growth rates for different input conditions are reported and compared with results of the analytical approximation formulas and numerical computer simulations.
