Description
The authors examined the correlation of radiological findings and hormonal changes in 94 patients treated with chronic hemodialysis programme. The radiological changes were accomp by significantly increased parathormon excretion in patients often hypocalcaemic, hyperphosphataemic. More serious roentgenologic changes were found in patients whose calcitonin concentration level was not high but their parathormon value was significantly increased. The authors emphasize the importance of regular complex radiological examinations and laboratory analyses in the follow-up of bone processes. (author)
