The 2-DIFIP Code (Edition 2)
Description
Results from the second version of 2-DIFIP (Version Including Gap) are outlined. Fission product release (e.g. of Cs 137) appears to be evaporation controlled, so that the diffusion coefficient plays a minor role in fission product retainment. Release into the inner coolant channel is more important due to the higher temperature of the internal sleeve. A gas-gap of 0.6 mm wide between fuel compacts and sleeves has very little direct effect on overall release (operating only through its influence on sleeve temperature). (author)
