Description

A comparison study of the commercially available single photon rotational emission tomography unit that are in clinical use was performed. The study was divided into two parts. The first part was the evaluation of the gamma camera system which includes the gantry arrangement, the detector and uniformity corrections system. The second part was the evaluation of the computer programs currently used which includes time of reconstruction, angle of slice, post processing filters, attenuation correction and extent of automation. Comparisons of the phantom images were made for spatial resolution and uniformity
