The sectors of nuclear deconstruction and dismantling - Nuclear dismantling in Basse-Normandie. Report presented to the Basse-Normandie Regional Economic, Social and Environmental Council + Opinion of Basse-Normandie Regional Economic, Social and Environmental Council adopted unanimously with five abstentions, Session of the 16 June 2014

Description

The first part of this report proposes an overview of the situation of the nuclear dismantling sector in France within the framework of a study on the deconstruction and dismantling sectors. The second part proposes an overview of civil and military basic nuclear installations located in the Basse-Normandie region, and of their characteristics. Some of them already display some significant experience in terms of dismantling, and it is possible to assess the importance of the impact of these activities in a relatively close future. The third part presents regional companies related to nuclear dismantling, and the fourth one outlines brakes and stakes of the region to become a key player. After a discussion of mobilisation efforts to be made, a last part comments innovations induced by dismantling activities from a social, organisational and human point of view, and mobilisation efforts to be made in the field of research on safety and security issues in nuclear waste management
