Description
Since the early 1970ties the 'GRS Handbook on Criticality' is a standard reference for criticality data. It is widely used by German and international regulators, technical support organizations and research institutes that are active in the field of nuclear safety analysis. All criticality safety data of the handbook was transferred to an HDF5 database. Legacy data, which formerly was only available in printed form, was digitized and stored together with reviewed and newly calculated data in a standardized format. In this paper, the dedicated graphical user interface HBcrit is presented, which was implemented as a Jupyter notebook to visualize and analyze the critical data plots. This GUI contains multiple visualization options, e. g. zoom into regions of the figure, lin/log representation of the data, and bilingual captions and descriptions (English, German). The GUI also allows for several analysis options of the data, e. g. interpolation between data points, readout of the cursor position and the comparison of two curves. This comparison is possible for any combination of two plots, e. g. different enrichments, different materials or different calculations. The digital version of the 'GRS Handbook on Criticality' is expected to be published in the future together with the GUI HBcrit. (author)
