Description

In this study, the code MCNPX2.7.0 and the anthropomorphic simulator were used to represent an adult patient exposed to X radiation produced by dental equipment of the brand Gnatus-Timex 70E. In addition to the equipment modeling, a Radcal 10 x 6-6 ionization chamber was modeled, positioned at the skin entrance of the anthropomorphic simulator, called FASH3 to simulate the dose of entry into the skin (DEP) of the patient undergoing periapical X-ray examination. This article proposes, based on the dimensions of the X-ray room. dentistry, estimate DEP in a patient undergoing periapical X-ray examination through the simulation of radiation detectors as well as in a virtual anthropomorphic simulator, called FASH3. It was observed that the results of DEP might vary depending on the region of interest to be examined, since the dental diagnostic technique for each region uses different exposure times and the spread of radiation may vary its spread depending on the position of the patient. Xray tube. (author)
