Kinetics of stainless steel decarbonizing in argon-oxygen refining plant
Description
Main kinetic parameters (reaction order, rate constant, activation apparent energy, mass transfer coefficient, diffusive boundary layer thickness) are determined and the limiting stages of carbon oxidation process at different stages of flowing-through of stainless steel in an argon-oxygen refining plant within carbon concentration wide range (from 2.00 up to 0.02%) are found. Oxidation kinetic conditions at 2.00-0.17 and 0.14-0.02% carbon concentrations, as well as, the variation of carbon oxidation condition at carbon concentration constituting about 0.1%, are determined. 5 refs.; 3 figs.; 5 tabs
