Slow-neutron inelastic scattering in absorbing media with application to liquid 3He

Description
The absorption correction which must be applied to slow-neutron inelastic scattering data in strongly absorbing media such as liquid 3He is obtained. Some properties of the scattering cross section arising from the presence of absorption, and of spin correlations in liquid 3He, are indicated. (author)
