Description

Fuel elements of BWR's usually have a square cross-section. They are grouped in bundles of four, between which a control rod of cruciform crossection can move. The upper side of the control rod projects into the inside of the upper grid plate so that even if the fuel elements are taken out, there is a guide for the control rod. (orig.)

Brennelemente von SWR haben ueblicherweise einen quadratischen Querschnitt. Sie sind zu Vierer-Buendeln gruppiert, zwischen denen ein Steuerstab mit Kreuzquerschnitt beweglich angeordnet ist. Die Oberseite des Steuerstabes ragt mit Vorspruengen in das Innere der oberen Gitterplatte, so dass auch bei Ausbau der Brennelemente eine Fuehrung fuer den Steuerstab gegeben ist. (orig.)
